One of the perks of living in Downtown L.A. is that there is always something to do nearby! You don’t have to look far to plan your next outing or to just get out for a day. We’ve rounded up some of the best events, shows, and activities going on in October / November that you can’t miss out on.
Grand Park’s Día De Los Muertos
When: Saturday, Oct 22 - Wednesday, Nov 2
Where: Grand Park, 200 N. Grand Ave.
In celebration of Día De Los Muertos and their 10-year anniversary, Downtown L.A.’s Grand Park will be hosting a free 12-day public art display featuring large-scale personalized altars made by local artists and community organizations that honor people, places, and ideas. Take a stroll through the park and dive into the artist’s perspective while enjoying some beautiful artwork!

Where: Broadway Bar, 830 S. Broadway
Spooky season is officially here! Get your best costume on and join 300+ guests on the annual Zombie Crawl, which will take you around DTLA to participating bars, lounges, and nightclubs. With your ticket, you’ll be provided with a ‘zombie survival kit’ - which includes free welcome shots, drink discount coupons, and free nightclub entry passes. If you don’t have Halloween plans yet, you won’t want to miss out on this!
South Park Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade
When: Sunday, Oct 30th 4pm - 6pm
Where: South Park Commons, 1114 S. Grand Ave. (next to Aven and Pine & Crane)
The South Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) is hosting a dog costume contest in South Park Commons to ensure your pups gets a Halloween experience of their own! There will be costume category contests to enter your dog in to see who’s the best in show with many prizes (and bragging rights!) to be won. Local businesses will be setting up tables around the space with some goodies and concessions. More information on the event to come later! Stay tuned.

The Brewsology Beer Festival will take on a one-of-a-kind experience you’ve probably been dreaming about since middle school - a night at the museum! This 21+ event will feature over 50 local craft breweries, 150 different beers/ciders, and an all access-pass throughout the museum. Cheers!

Where: Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand Ave
Running from now through December 17th, the Modern Parlor Magic Show will bring you into an immersive and intimate night of magic, mentalism, theatre, and live music at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel. David Carlo will take you through the interactive show full of visual illusions, mind-reading, close-up mysteries, and even a bullet catch! To round out the evening, there is also a Victorian-style speakeasy bar with signature cocktails to pair with the show itself.

Unicorn Trivia curates LGBTQ+ trivia nights at Redline in Downtown L.A. every Wednesday night. Drag queen superstars Miss ShuMai and Jenna Seikwah host the fun and hilarious event each week. No brain-power required - just bring your friends and your random knowledge of “stuff about things and junk”! We can’t think of anything more fun to do to jumpstart the end of the week.
