Seeking Signatures to Recall Council Member Kevin de León

Councilman de León has been caught making racist comments and has lost the trust of his constituents and colleagues yet has refused to resign. If you agree that the South Park neighborhood (which is within CD14 district) currently has no effective representation and believe we should not keep de León in office for another 2 years, the next step is to sign the petition for the removal of the Councilman.

The SPNA is supporting the efforts of a non-partisan coalition of CD 14 residents called “CD14 United Recall Kevin de León” which has begun the legal requirements to gather 21,000 valid signatures of registered voters within CD14 before March 25.

SPNA is mobilizing volunteers within our South Park neighborhood to gather signatures. According to public records, there are currently 5133 registered voters within South Park. SPNA’s goal is to gather at least 25% of those (or 1300 valid signatures).

To sign the recall petition or help in the process, please email us at spna4kdlrecall@gmail.com. The SPNA Committee will respond with days, times, and convenient locations for you to sign the petition.

De León has lost the trust of those he is supposed to represent, he lost influence with his constitutes and fellow council members, and he will not resign after a plethora of requests from business leaders to political leaders at all levels along with requests from CD 14 residents. He has a “De León for Lt. Governor 2026” campaign fund after running and losing the race for LA Mayor. He has moved on – we should too.
