South Park Farmers Market on the Launch Pad, About to Lift Off!

The long-awaited South Park Farmers Market by “Farmer Mark” has been submitted for LA City approval, and with fingers crossed, we will see the first Saturday event in a few weeks according to Rich Sarian, Partnerships & Program Manager of the South Park Business Improvement District and the person spearheading the effort to get the market off the ground.

The South Park Farmers Market is a joint venture between the South Park Business Improvement District and Farmer Mark (www.Farmermark.com ) who will program, produce, and manage the weekly event.  Farmer Mark is a vibrant company started by former tomato farmer and UCLA graduate Mark Anderson who believes that real food is the foundation of healthy living.  Mark’s concept with his markets is to “put farmers first, promoting local, sustainable agriculture and providing a lively venue where small farmers can sell directly to their customers and receive a fair price for the food they labor to grow.”  And Mark and his staff have a world of experience.  The South Park event will be the sixth Farmer Mark venue operating in the LA area and will compliment successful markets currently running weekly in WeHo, Westwood Village, Playa Vista, Costa Mesa (SOCO), and Newport Beach.

Vendors are lined up and ready to go and will include Certified California farmers, food related vendors, arts and crafters seeking an outlet for their wares, local businesses looking to promote themselves, as well as a vivid blend of local bands, singer/song writers, and entertainers.  The South Park Farmer Mark will be held every Saturday year around from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Grand Avenue between Olympic Avenue and 11th Street will be shut down each week to house the event!

SPNA is excited to see this fabulous event coming soon to South Park.  We think Farmer Mark will be a major addition to the fun and vibrancy of the neighborhood and go a long way toward demonstrating that we are one of the most “happening” neighborhoods in the city.  See you there!

If you would like to inquire about becoming a vendor or promoter of your local business, feel free to contact Farmer Mark on their website (https://Farmermark.com).  This is going to be a runaway fun event!
