New Year, New You
Join Us for The Second Annual SPNA Community Cleanse
January is the month we all think about re-setting our lives. Some of us make lists of New Year’s Resolutions and some embark on a cleanse for the month. With the decadent eating (and drinking) during the holidays, taking the month of January to reset the mind and body is growing in popularity. With this in mind, the South Park Neighborhood Association, in partnership with California Hospital Dignity Health and various local businesses, will again organize a Community-wide cleanse for January. There will be many ways to gather as a community and support each other plus a slew of prizes for those that stay on cleanse the whole month. There is no cost to participate for residents or businesses.
How to Participate:
Pick one of the popular cleanses from the list below.
Registering is simple. Just email us at spnadtla@gmail.com and we will include you on the series of eBlasts that we will send out during the month with information about the various events that will take place all month long.
Do your weigh-in at Lagree 213 (corner of 12th and Hope). This will set your baseline weight and be used for the competition portion of the event,. Weigh-in window is from January 2nd to January 7th. There will be a final weigh-in on January 30 or 31st.
Join us for one or all of the many cleanse-related community events we have scheduled for the month.
Win prizes for participating and getting measured results.
Cleanses (Pick One):
Most cleanses will follow the same general principles. Healthy eating, no caffeine, no alcohol, no sugar, no processed foods. Each of the above has its nuances. Do your research, there are tons of videos about the cleanses and forums that discuss them. If you have a question, you can always reach out to us or those that created the cleanses.

Baseline Test
Measurement equates to motivation (and we all need motivation to get through a cleanse). We only one benchmark that we will monitor at the start of the cleanse at the end of the month. We will have a prize for both a women’s and a men’s category. These tests will be how we award prizes. Remember, this is your cleanse. Make it work for you.
Body Mass Index: BMI is calculated by dividing one’s weight by height. Height doesn’t change during a cleanse but weight will. You can have your BMI measured at Lagree213 (corner of 12th and Hope). Just stop by Lagree on any of the below listed Weigh-In windows and they will complete an InBody body measurement session. Sessions take about 5 minutes and there is no cost.
