Enter Into the Moxy/AC Universe
The anticipated Moxy and AC Hotel opened this month in South Park. We had the pleasure of meeting with Courtney Nichols, the Experiential Marketing Director of the new structure that boasts two hotels with a combined 727 rooms and will soon house an impressive roster of 13 restaurants, bars, and a night club.
One thing present in all Moxy lobbies is that they set the mood for your stay. Once you step in, you’re invited to a realm that alludes to warm desert evenings and nomadic culture, present in the sand tone art and the motorcycle parked in the lounge, as guests are mingling, working, and sipping on cocktails. It’s the lobby and Bar Moxy, an everything but basic place to congregate.
Head 34 floors up if you’re checking into the AC Hotel, which perfectly complements the Moxy with a more mature feel. Here you’ll find muted tones and minimal decor, with the desert theme crossing over. This is where you’ll find the AC Bar & Lounge and rooftop bar La Lo La, which will be open nightly starting this month. La Lo La will undoubtedly be a hot spot for locals, with unique views of the city, offering Spanish style tapas and live music on Thursdays.
In speaking with Courtney, it’s evident there’s a lot in store for the new hotels. Her aim is to make it a community hub with diverse offerings. The 8th floor is a massive project by the Houston brothers, which once complete will feature several restaurants, a night club, and a revolving carousel bar. There will be a wide range of events and programming, including sponsored events, fitness classes, and happy hours just to name a few, with a calendar release every month. You can also find their schedule on Instagram. Eventually, they will have room discounts for locals wanting a staycation and to experience our city in a new way. We look forward to welcoming the Moxy/AC to the neighborhood!
