Modern Animal Welcomes Your Pets

South Park pet owners have long been  challenged in locating convenient local veterinary care for their dogs and cats.  The recent opening of Modern Animal at 301 West Olympic Blvd. between Olive and Hill has solved this challenging aspect of South Park life with a bright new cheerful facility and an excellent program that offers the best health care for Fido or Tiger. I recently visited Modern Animal with my Chihuahua/Terrier mix Elizabeth, and I was completely satisfied and impressed. Let me tell you about Modern Animal and my first experience.

Modern Animal is a non-traditional veterinary practice that is based on a membership program.  The current membership fee is $199.00 per year for access to The Modern Animal App.  When your pet becomes a member, he or she can access:

·      Free unlimited in-office exams

·      Free unlimited on-demand video consults, including urgent care

·      24/7/365 chat and telephone support

·      10% off all quoted services costs

·      Access to any Modern Animal Location throughout Los Angeles and many western U.S. cities

Any suggested veterinary care you approve is charged extra when performed.

If you are not interested in the benefits of membership, office visits are available at $80.00 per visit.

I recently purchased a membership for Elizabeth and made her first appointment using the App provided in the membership, foregoing the usual fifteen-minute wait on hold common at my previous vet.  The first benefit I realized was the one block walk to the Modern Animal office. (Previous trips to the vet for Elizabeth required a trip to Silver Lake and a massive parking problem.)  The Modern Animal office is cheerful, filled with light, and beautifully designed.  The animal care area was spotlessly clean and welcoming, and the staff was pleasant and efficient.

Unlike my previous vet, I was allowed to accompany my squeamish charge into the examination room, which calmed her significantly.  The check-up was performed efficiently and professionally, and I was immediately offered a solution to Elizabeth’s constant itching/scratching problem.  I was pleased to find that Modern Animal had transferred all of Elizabeth’s records from my previous vet, and I was offered and accepted application of several missing vaccinations.  The technician was unhurried and very caring and freely offered advice.

The whole experience was terrific!  My pet received care without traumatization by  skilled and caring people in clean, professional facilities – and I only had to walk a block to access the service!

It’s no secret that under the previous veterinary care model requiring a trip to the vet’s office for any concern - and the resulting office visit fee - tended to shortstop needed care for our pets.   With a Modern Animal membership, I can now get the questions answered to decide about further care for my pet on the telephone or on-line, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year - and at no charge. I know that better care for Elizabeth will be the result.  In addition, it’s nice to know that there is someone to talk to at all hours of the night in case of an emergency.

You can locate more information and become a member of Modern Animal on their website: www.modernanimal.com. When you sign up, tell them you read about them in the SPNA Newsletter!

Modern Animal is a great benefit to living in South Park.  Welcome to the neighborhood!
