Community, home, social describe living at Elleven Lofts (1111 S. Grand). Elleven’s new General Manager, Kristen Saucedo, and Assistant GM, Leti Catalan talked about Elleven and its residents.
The biggest attribute of living in Elleven is the “sense of community” according to Leti, who has been with Elleven on and off the past 10 years. “Everyone gets along and there is a feeling that this is home. Residents feel comfortable coming back home after working all day.” She adds the residents “love living there and they say the staff is great!”

Kristen added that “the residents believe that the elected board is looking out for the general community.”
The very active social committee is another top attribute of Elleven. They host the monthly DAD (Dine Around Downtown) events, and Elleven’s social committee hosts six events each year in the “party room” off the front lobby. Leti said, the group “is always seeking new ideas and party themes. In December, they had a successful book drive which benefitted the Hope Street Margolis Family Center and families.” Elleven management, HOA, and residents fully support the annual A Taste of South Park where 1,000 residents attended last September.
Kristen and Leti feel that the residents’ biggest concern is neighborhood security and homelessness. “It has been a struggle getting the city to get the streetlights working.” Elleven will keep the trees wrapped in tiny light bulbs throughout the year to illuminate the double wide sidewalks in front of Starbucks and the building's entrance.
Kristen feels that South Park would benefit from the “completion of the graffiti towers” and more condos developed, believing “ownership will add to more stability in DTLA.” Kristen also wants more green space for pets, more homeless shelters, and more community activities to draw younger residents out.
The Elleven building was built in 2006 with 176 residential units and four commercial spaces on 13 floors. They share a pool, spa, pool deck, and garage with Luma Lofts. There is 24-hour security. The building is professionally staffed and managed by Actionlife.
SPNA welcomes Kristen to the neighborhood and appreciates Leti for her many years of service to the residents of Elleven and supporting the neighborhood and South Park Neighborhood Association.
