Excerpts from their press release are below to give you a better sense of who they are and what they offer. They are a great addition to L.A. LIVE and our neighborhood. I suggest you go check them out for lunch or dinner, especially on non-game days.

First Urban Prototype of Lazy Dog’s Small Mountain Town Feel

(COSTA MESA, CA) October 2023– Lazy Dog Restaurants, the casual dining restaurant serving a seasonally-inspired menu of handmade artisanal food and drink with small mountain town hospitality, opened its doors at 800 W. Olympic Blvd. within L.A. LIVE, the downtown Los Angeles sports and live entertainment district. This restaurant is the brand’s first urban and entertainment-driven prototype.

Designed to draw inspiration from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the 9,591-square-foot restaurant features seating for 169 guests inside, as well as an outdoor patio with room for 70 guests.

Lazy Dog’s grand interior is complete with lodge-inspired furnishings such as ledge stone, and a chandelier crafted from Aspen logs. The restaurant features original colorful artwork as well as photography inspired by the spirit of Cowboy State. The restaurant also has a feature wall crafted from 150-year-old barn wood siding with inserts of preserved vegetation as well as heavy timber ceiling elements. The unique blend of urban and rustic elements allows guests to connect and experience the spirit of the mountains while dining in a contemporary rustic environment with L.A. LIVE right outside the doorstep.

“We are thrilled to join L.A. LIVE and bring our small-town hospitality and delicious food to the neighborhood,” said Chris Simms, founder and CEO of Lazy Dog. “Lazy Dog has been received with open arms, and we can’t wait to be part of the downtown Los Angeles community.”

“L.A. LIVE is incredibly excited to welcome Lazy Dog to our sports and live entertainment district in the heart of downtown Los Angeles,” said Lee Zeidman, president of L.A. LIVE, Crypto.com Arena and Peacock Theater. “We strive to bring in amazing restaurant partners, and we have found that with Lazy Dog and look forward to their creative and delicious dining concept joining L.A. LIVE.”

The menu features new seasonal dishes including the Mediterranean Trio featuring hummus, spicy feta dip, tabbouleh grains, veggies and lavash garlic chips, as well as the Pulled Pork Sandwich with tender pulled pork tossed in a tangy Carolina-style BBQ sauce with coleslaw and crispy onion straws. House favorites include BBQ Bison Meatloaf made with all-natural Durham Ranch grass-raised Wyoming bison, Campfire Pot Roast and Southern Fried Chicken Salad with a side of Nashville hot sauce for dipping. Guests can also find small plates such as Cheddar Cheese Curds and Crispy Deviled Eggs. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy the house made Apple-Huckleberry Open Face Pie.

These bowls are available as a pop-in on the menu in restaurant and serves as its own virtual concept where guests can order via pickup, delivery or through third-party delivery channels.

Guests can continue the experience at home and get restaurant benefits by signing up for Lazy Dog Beer Club, a membership that gives members access to a variety of beers from craft brewers around the country.
