SPNA’s Spooktacular Howl-O-Ween Dog Party

The fur monsters of South Park came out on Sunday, October 29th for our second annual Howl-O-Ween event. Over 50 dogs showed up in costume for a paw-some afternoon filled with contests, photos, and treats.

Coming in 1st place was a return of last year’s champion, who went all-out Toy Story this year and donned her pups as Woody and Buzz accompanied by a cart full of toys and accessories from the film. They were, to say the least, adorable and an immediate crowd favorite. Other winners included Mario and Yoshi, and a mother/fur daughter matching Audrey Hepburn.

We partnered with several local businesses for the event. South Park Doggie Playland built a wonderful picture area for the pups to strike a pose and gave away daycare packs to 6 lucky winners. We had Pugnation pug rescue on site along with an adorable rescue pug to educate guests on the rescue mission as well as Just Food for Dogs with samples and treats of their high-quality products.

Photographer Eric Norris took incredible photos of the guests and their best friends to cherish the memories. Toni’s Pet concierge helped judge the event and donated gift cards for her services to two winners. Wishbone Park’s famous neighbor Pine and Crane supplied beverages and a $100 gift card prize. L.A. Live’s new dog friendly restaurant, Lazy Dog, donated a prize and free appetizer cards to all in attendance. Additionally, Healthy Spot gave away treats and supplied the dog bowls and HiDef had bottles of their award-winning beer for 3 winners and hosted the official afterparty.

We’re grateful for the help we had in making the event a fun day for the neighborhood to enjoy! See you next year!
