More Candidates File for CD 14 City Council Seat

Currently 11 people have filed for CD 14 City Council seat – our South Park city council district. The latest to file is the incumbent, Kevin de Leon, who has been under fire to resign after racist comments made in audio recordings were made public in October 2022. He was elected to City Council in 2020. He lost his bid for LA Mayor in June 2022. In 2018 he ran for US Senate and lost.

Other candidates for CD14 City Council include Samir Bitar, Wendy Carillo, Nadine Diaz, Genny Guerrero, Ysabel Jurado, Nick Pacheco, Miguel Santiago, Juan Marcos Tirado, Eduardo Vargue, and South Park resident Teresa Y. Hillery. Profiles of each candidate will be in SPNA newsletters before the March 2024 primary.

South Park resident and CD14 candidate Teresa Y Hillery held a meet-and-greet at HiDef where friends and neighbors gathered in support of her candidacy on September 28. Hillery has lived in South Park for 20 years. You will find her walking the neighborhood, at South Park events and activities, and riding the bus to wherever she needs to go. When you see her in the neighborhood, ask about her vision for CD14. Check out her website - https://teresayhillery.com/ to learn more, and participate in her campaign.
