Quick Trip to Pasadena, Little Tokyo, or Arts District, New Metro Line Opens Friday, June 16

Starting Friday, June 16, you can hop on a train at the Pico Station and exit in Pasadena or the Arts District or East LA without changing trains. Trains departing Pico Station will now continue through Metro Center at 7th Street with the A Line coming from Long Beach and continuing to Pasadena, and the L Line coming from Santa Monica and heading to East LA.

In addition, there are new Regional Connector stations at Grand Avenue/Bunker Hill behind the Broad Museum, Historic Broadway and Second Street next to the old LA Times Building, and Little Tokyo/Arts District at first and Central. The stations are worth visiting.

You don’t need to travel far to take advantage of the new train line. You can avoid walking uphill on Grand Ave. with a ride from Pico to The Disney Center, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion theaters, or The Broad and Contemporary Art Museums. Or ride from Pico to the Little Tokyo/Arts District station to visit the Japanese American National Museum or take a 5–10-minute walk to the heart of the Arts District.

The Regional Connector is a 1.9-mile twin tunnel running under Downtown Los Angeles from Bunker Hill to Little Tokyo. It connects the A, E, and L lines from the ocean, through downtown, and on to the suburbs in Azusa, Pasadena, East Los Angeles. Enjoy the ride! For a map and further details  click here.
