Summertime, Movie TimeLivin’ is Easy at Grand Hope Park

As we enter our last month of summer, outdoor events in downtown are sure to be on the radar. And what better way to enjoy a green space than by relaxing on the grass while watching a big screen fun movie with your neighbors.

Cinema at the Park hosts events across the city, screening movies of all kinds in the setting sun of a beautiful park. For South Park, these events are hosted by Grand Hope Park (next to FIDM). Each movie at the Grand Hope location has a focus on fashion, and on August 10th, you can see the latest, Clueless, the 90s cult classic comedy about fashionistas in high school.

But is that it? As if! Adding to the fun, of course, are plenty of food and drink options from various food trucks on site. It all starts at 6 pm with a fun audience game leading into a live musician, Aleeta, at 7 pm, and finally the movie at 8:30. A general admission advance purchase ticket is $22 which allows you to spread out your blanket and chair in your own relaxation spot for the whole night. Children are welcome with an admission fee of $10.

If you're new to the neighborhood or just feel like getting to know more downtown lovers like yourself, a DTLA movie night might be just what you need. Come on by for a cool summer night and have fun.
