Motion for Park in South Park on AEG’s Grand/11th Lot
AEG’s venerable parking lot at Grand Ave. and 11th Ave. (home of A Taste of South Park) may become a much-needed park space in the center of South Park according to a motion introduced on September 20 by 14th District Council Member Kevin de León.
Luminex 3.0 Coming to South Park October 5
One of our favorite street art exhibits is returning to South Park the evening of Saturday, October 5 from 7:00 to 11:30pm. Noted as a “Pop-up Natural Wonder,” Luminex has presented its unique brand of visual video art using several blank walls of buildings in South Park as canvas twice in the last three years to the delight of residents and visitors of downtown Los Angeles.

Neighbors Met State Rep Candidate Sade Elhawary
Sade Elhawary, candidate for California State Assembly for the South Park area, attended the September 19 candidate event sponsored by DTLA RA (Downtown Los Angeles Residents Association) along with SPNA (South Park Neighborhood Association). Sade mingled and talked with the 100+ neighbors and presented her 5-minute speech to the group.

Chick Hearn Court Closed, LA Live Street Project Begins
AEG started construction on Chick Hearn Court from Figueroa Street to Georgia Street on Thursday, September 19. This project will connect Peacock Place, a premier outdoor gathering space, with Crypto.com Arena. This portion of 11th Street will be permanently closed to traffic.

A Taste of South Park,
showcasing food and drinks from 16 South Park restaurants, will be held on Saturday, September 28th at the lot on 11th and Grand from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. The location and format will be like last year including food booths, live music, incredible raffles, vendor displays, and delightful socializing with your neighbors.
